Mexico co-hosted the 11th China International SME Fair in Guangzhou, China. 170 mexican businesses took part and had the unique opportunity to step into this immense market. Some of them closed deals on the first days of the event and started shipping their products only a few days after returning home.
We were invited by the President of the National Institute for Entrepreneurship to document the event in full. Travel expenses meant we couldn’t send a big team so our producer directed a crew of 8 local Chinese photographers, cameramen and translators.
Making the most of the 13 hour time zone difference, we sent photo and video content on a daily basis to the team in Mexico for “real-time” use in official social media channels and press releases. We also had a team covering all diplomatic activities and another one covering all aspects of the fair and business visits to market places and technology centres.
Communication was a welcome challenge – especially on the technical side of things. But all in all this was a memorable trip and an amazing way to experience the incredible Chinese culture.
